You shall take some first fruits of the various products of the soil which you harvest from the land the LORD, your God, is giving you; put them in a basket and go to the place which the LORD, your God, will choose as the dwelling place for his name. There you shall go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, “Today I acknowledge to the LORD, my God, that I have indeed come into the land which the LORD swore to our ancestors to give us.” (Dt 26:2-3)
We give to the Church as an acknowledgment that everything we have and are is a gift from the Lord. The model has always been 1/10, called a tithe, and each of us must prayerfully consider what we can contribute to the mission of the Church.
To make life simple we offer E-Giving where your contribution can be made electronically, the way many of us pay our car payments, mortgages, and other financial obligations. You can also use E-Giving for a one-time gift if you miss mass one Sunday, or just walked out of the house one Sunday without cash or check.
In order to avoid waste, we do not automatically send envelopes to every parishioner. If you are not receiving envelopes and would like to use them, please call the office (804-737-8028).
