Funerals

For the Christian the day of death inaugurates, at the end of his sacramental life, the fulfillment of his new birth begun at Baptism, the definitive “conformity” to “the image of the Son” conferred by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and participation in the feast of the Kingdom which was anticipated in the Eucharist – even if final purifications are still necessary for him in order to be clothed with the nuptial garment.( Catechism of the Catholic Church # 1682)

While the Rite of Christian Burial is not a sacrament, it is our final opportunity to express in prayer our belief in the dignity of the human person, and offer consolation to the family and friends.  Father Capuano and Father Redmond and the entire parish stand ready to assist you in this most difficult time. Please call us (804-737-8028) to arrange for the Mass of Christian Burial. In addition, the Council of Women are ready to provide a reception for family and friends after the service, a time to share memories and fellowship.
